Andrea Petkovic has cruised into the second round of the WTA-Tournament in Beijing. The world’s number 35 had no troubles defeating Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic (WTA 30) 6:2; 6:3.
In the second round the best-ranked German female tennis player faces the winner of the Russian match Dinara Safina between second-seeded Vera Zvonareva. Just a few weeks ago Andrea lost 1:6; 2:6 to Zvonareva at the round of sixteen at the US Open and will seeks for revenge in case they compete against each other.
